パウル・クレー（Paul Klee 1879-1940）は20世紀のスイスの画家・美術理論家です。
ワシリー・カンディンスキーらとともに芸術家グループ「青騎士（ブラウエ・ライター）」を結成し、豊かな想像力を背景に独自の自然観に根ざした造形理論を育みました。バウハウスでも教鞭をとり、絶えず造形をめぐる思考と実験に取り組み、その作風は表現主義、超現実主義などのいずれにも属さない独特のものとなりました。乾いたユーモアと、時には子供のような視点、個人の信念や音楽性を反映しており、20世紀の多くの画家のインスピレーションの源となりました。
